Job summary
To provide frontline security and protection for the Company’s employees, visitors, assets, and facilities.
The role is responsible for enforcing access control, conducting patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, and
responding to security incidents in a professional and timely manner.
The position ensures adherence to Company security procedures, occupational safety standards, and
contractor post orders, supporting the maintenance of a safe, orderly, and secure work environment across
the site.
Roles and responsibilities
1. Access Control & Surveillance
• Manage entry and exit points for employees, visitors, and vehicles in accordance with established
procedures.
• Verify identification, issue visitor passes, and maintain detailed records of all movements.
• Operate and monitor CCTV, alarm, and access control systems, ensuring prompt reporting of
irregularities.
• Prevent unauthorised access to restricted or high-risk areas.
2. Patrols, Inspections & Incident Prevention
• Conduct regular internal and perimeter patrols to detect irregularities, safety hazards, or suspicious
behaviour.
• Check lighting, gates, locks, and fire exits for functionality and security.
• Ensure compliance with site safety requirements, including PPE enforcement in restricted areas.
• Identify and report maintenance issues or environmental risks observed during patrols.
3. Incident Response & Reporting
• Respond immediately to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies (fire, accidents, theft, or medical).
• Provide initial containment, cordon off affected areas, and inform the Security Supervisor.
• Record all incidents accurately in the Occurrence Book (OB) and prepare detailed reports.
• Support emergency evacuations, crowd control, and first-aid response when required.
4. Asset & Property Protection
• Monitor loading and offloading of goods to prevent loss or damage.
• Verify dispatch documentation and ensure proper vehicle checks for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Enforce Company rules on personal item inspection at designated exits.
• Safeguard Company-issued property, tools, and equipment under your responsibility.
5. Coordination & Communication
• Maintain constant communication with the Security Supervisor and fellow officers via radio or phone.
• Relay information about incidents, visitor arrivals, or emergencies in a timely and professional manner.
• Cooperate with production, maintenance, and admin teams to maintain safe working conditions.
• Liaise with local authorities or emergency responders when instructed.
6. Emergency Preparedness & Safety
• Participate in fire drills, evacuation exercises, and safety awareness campaigns.
• Familiarize yourself with emergency routes, assembly points, and first-response procedures.
• Assist in implementing fire prevention and occupational safety protocols.
7. Conduct, Integrity & Professionalism
• Maintain a high level of discipline, punctuality, and personal presentation while on duty.
• Uphold the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and courtesy.
• Ensure adherence to the Contractor’s Code of Conduct and the Company’s security and safety policies.
• Provide respectful and customer-oriented service to employees, visitors, and stakeholders.
