Job summary
The Quality Assurance Supervisor coordinates daily quality assurance activities across all production stages –
from raw material intake to finished garments – ensuring compliance with company standards, customer
specifications, and regulatory requirements. The role provides technical oversight for inspection, testing, and
corrective actions while promoting teamwork, continuous improvement, and adherence to Quality, Health,
Safety, and Environment (QHSE) and 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain) principles.
Key roles and responsibilities
• Quality Monitoring & Control
– Supervise inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process goods, and finished products to ensure
conformity with set parameters.
– Coordinate routine and random quality checks across spinning, weaving, dyeing, and garmenting lines.
– Verify that all defects and deviations are identified, recorded, and addressed through appropriate
corrective action.
– Ensure proper use, calibration, and care of testing and inspection equipment.
– Review and validate inspection results submitted by Quality Assurance Assistants before reporting to
management.
• Process Supervision & Efficiency
– Monitor workflow at key process control points to maintain product quality and process consistency.
– Work with production supervisors to identify recurring issues and minimise waste, rework, and
downtime.
– Participate in root cause analysis and support implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions
(CAPA).
– Recommend process or method improvements to enhance product uniformity and efficiency.
• People Management & Development
– Supervise, allocate, and coordinate daily tasks for QA Assistants and Inspectors.
– Communicate quality objectives, targets, and expectations clearly to the team.
– Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide feedback to build accountability and skill.
– Coach and mentor QA and production staff on inspection methods, standards, and quality awareness.
– Promote the company’s mission, vision, and values through daily leadership, teamwork, and decisionmaking.
– Enforce discipline and ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and ethical standards.
• Quality Systems Implementation & Compliance
– Enforce compliance with internal quality management procedures and customer requirements.
– Maintain up-to-date QA documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and deviation logs.
– Ensure QA activities align with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.
– Support internal and external quality audits and follow up on action plans.
• Safety, Housekeeping & QHSE Compliance
– Enforce Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) procedures in all QA and production areas.
– Ensure correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by QA staff.
– Maintain 5S standards, ensuring laboratories, inspection areas, and workstations are clean and
organised.
– Report safety incidents, hazards, and near misses to management and follow up on preventive measures.
• Reporting, Communication & Coordination
– Prepare and submit daily/shift QA reports, highlighting key performance metrics, deviations, and actions.
– Liaise with production, maintenance, and warehouse teams to resolve quality concerns.
– Provide timely updates to the Manager – QA, on trends, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
– Participate in quality review and production coordination meetings.
• Product Feedback & Continuous Improvement
– Collect, analyse, and interpret product samples as per testing protocols and quality plans.
– Provide feedback on product performance and improvement needs based on inspection results and
market data.
– Support the introduction of new products, testing standards, and training initiatives that strengthen
overall quality performance.
• Compliance with Vistari’s Corporate Systems
– Apply the highest standards of internal controls and risk management practices and behaviours and
embed a positive risk and control culture.
– Demonstrate prudence, sound judgement, and appropriate and timely escalations in management of all
types of risk (including fraud risk) applicable to the role.
– Promote and adhere to Vistari’s core values and ensure compliance with organisational policies and
procedures, collective agreements, and statutory employment standards.
– Maintain zero tolerance to bribery, fraud, and corruption, and ensure the immediate reporting of any
corruption or suspect behaviour that threatens Vistari’s reputation.
– Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures and immediately report any safeguarding concerns.
– Any other related responsibilities that may be assigned by the Line Manager from time to time.
