Job summary
The Quality Assurance Manager leads and oversees all quality assurance functions across the textile and garment
production value chain from raw materials through processing to finished goods. The role ensures the
establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems that align with
company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory compliance. It also drives a culture of quality
excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement through effective leadership and collaboration
with production teams.
Key roles and responsibilities
• Quality Systems Development & Implementation
– Develop, review, and enforce company-wide quality assurance (QA) policies, procedures, and manuals
in alignment with industry, company and ISO related standards.
– Establish and monitor quality parameters for all input materials, processes, and final products to ensure
conformity and consistency.
– Design and implement inspection and testing systems that proactively detect and prevent nonconformances.
– Lead internal audits and facilitate external certification and recertification processes.
– Ensure calibration, maintenance, and validation of testing and inspection equipment.
• Inspection, Testing & Process Control
– Oversee quality checks at all stages raw materials, spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, and garmenting.
– Review and approve test reports, laboratory results, and non-conformance analyses.
– Ensure adherence to sampling plans, inspection protocols, and corrective action procedures.
– Guide QA teams in root cause analysis and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) implementation.
– Monitor key process indicators (KPIs) and collaborate with production management to enhance process
capability and reduce variability.
• Compliance, Certification & Documentation
– Ensure compliance with internal, customer, and statutory requirements, maintaining all relevant
certifications (ISO, NEMA, etc.).
– Serve as the focal point for regulatory inspections, third-party audits, and customer quality reviews.
– Maintain an updated technical database of product specifications, inspection records, and quality
documentation.
– Oversee document control, ensuring traceability and retention in line with company policy.
• Continuous Improvement & Research
– Analyse quality data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
– Lead initiatives in defect reduction, waste minimization, and process optimization using Lean and Six
Sigma methodologies.
– Benchmark product quality and process performance against industry best practices.
– Research and recommend adoption of emerging testing technologies, sustainable quality systems, and
eco-certification standards.
– Coordinate product trials and market feedback analysis to guide improvement plans.
• Management, Capacity Building & Team Development
– Manage, coach, and mentor QA supervisors, assistants, and production staff to achieve excellence in
quality performance. – Set clear goals, conduct performance appraisals, and provide structured feedback to develop capability and accountability.
– Design and facilitate training programs to enhance technical, analytical, and quality management
competencies.
– Promote the company’s mission, vision, and values through visible leadership and quality-driven culture.
– Build cross-functional collaboration with production, maintenance, and Research & Development teams
for problem-solving and innovation.
• Reporting, Coordination & Communication
– Prepare and present periodic reports on quality performance, non-conformances, and corrective actions
to management.
– Communicate effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders on quality issues and
resolutions.
– Provide input for management reviews, board reports, and customer audits.
– Coordinate daily quality meetings and represent the department in production planning discussions.
• Safety, QHSE & Housekeeping
– Enforce compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) policies and regulations.
– Ensure all QA personnel adhere to safety guidelines and use prescribed Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE).
– Maintain 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain) standards within all QA areas,
laboratories, and inspection zones.
– Report incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly.
• Compliance with Vistari’s Corporate Systems
– Apply the highest standards of internal controls and risk management practices and behaviours and
embed a positive risk and control culture.
– Demonstrate prudence, sound judgement, and appropriate and timely escalations in management of all
types of risk (including fraud risk) applicable to the role.
– Promote and adhere to Vistari’s core values and ensure compliance with organisational policies and
procedures.
– Maintain zero tolerance to bribery, fraud, and corruption, and ensure the immediate reporting of any
corruption or suspect behaviour that threatens Vistari’s reputation.
– Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures and immediately report any safeguarding concerns.
– Any other related responsibilities that may be assigned by the Line Manager from time to time.
