Job Description

Job summary
The Quality Assurance Assistant supports the Quality Assurance (QA) team in monitoring, recording, and
maintaining product quality standards across all stages of production, from raw materials to finished garments.
The role assists in inspections, testing, and process verification to ensure that products meet internal standards,
customer requirements, and regulatory specifications.
Key roles and responsibilities
• Quality Monitoring & Testing
– Conduct or assist in quality checks on raw materials (e.g., cotton, yarns, fabrics, trims) and finished
garments according to set standards.
– Collect, label, and store samples accurately in line with approved sampling plans.
– Measure and record product characteristics such as strength, shade, size, and stitch quality to verify
compliance with technical specifications.
– Assist with laboratory or on-floor testing, including shrinkage, colour fastness, and tensile strength tests
where applicable.
• In-Process Inspection & Process Support
– Carry out process control checks across different production sections – spinning, weaving, knitting,
dyeing, sewing, and finishing.
– Identify and report visible defects (e.g., stains, loose threads, incorrect stitching, fabric flaws) during
inspections.
– Record inspection data and promptly communicate non-conformities to the Quality Assurance
Supervisor or Production Supervisor.
– Support corrective and preventive action follow-up and verify that reworked products meet quality
requirements before release.
• Data Recording & Reporting
– Maintain accurate records of inspection results, test data, and non-conformance reports.
– Prepare or assist with daily quality summaries and shift reports for management review.
– Input inspection data into quality tracking systems for trend analysis.
– Ensure proper filing and traceability of all inspection and test documentation.
• Awareness, Compliance & Safety
– Promote awareness of quality standards, customer specifications, and defect categories among
production and garmenting staff.
– Comply with all company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) procedures and workplace
safety regulations.
– Use prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times during inspection or testing.
– Report any observed safety or environmental risks to the QA Supervisor.
• Continuous Improvement & Teamwork
– Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute ideas to reduce rework, waste, or customer
complaints.
– Support root-cause analysis and documentation of corrective actions.
– Collaborate closely with production, garmenting, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth coordination
of quality checks.
– Take part in departmental training, refresher courses, and meetings to enhance quality and technical
awareness.
– Uphold the organisation’s mission, vision, and values through professionalism, accuracy, and teamwork.
• Compliance with Vistari’s Corporate Systems
– Apply the highest standards of internal controls and risk management practices and behaviours and
embed a positive risk and control culture.
– Demonstrate prudence, sound judgement, and appropriate and timely escalations in management of all
types of risk (including fraud risk) applicable to the role.
– Promote and adhere to Vistari’s core values and ensure compliance with organisational policies and
procedures, collective agreements, and statutory employment standards.
– Maintain zero tolerance to bribery, fraud, and corruption, and ensure the immediate reporting of any
corruption or suspect behaviour that threatens Vistari’s reputation.
– Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures and immediately report any safeguarding concerns.
– Any other related responsibilities that may be assigned by the Line Manager from time to time
