Job summary
The Machine Operator – Humidification Plant operates, monitors, and maintains the humidification and
compressed air systems to ensure stable environmental conditions for textile and garment production. The role
supports product quality, machine performance, and workplace comfort while promoting energy efficiency,
safety, and compliance with environmental standards.
Key roles and responsibilities
• Operation & Monitoring
– Operate and adjust humidification systems, air compressors, pumps, and auxiliary equipment to
maintain required temperature, humidity, and air pressure levels.
– Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels to ensure stable and efficient operations.
– Regulate airflow, pressure, and humidity within production halls to meet process-specific requirements.
– Respond promptly to system alarms, deviations, or irregularities and take corrective action.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting
– Conduct daily and periodic maintenance on compressors, pumps, filters, nozzles, and distribution lines.
– Clean, lubricate, and replace worn parts to prevent breakdowns and maintain system reliability.
– Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical or operational faults and coordinate major repairs with
maintenance technicians.
– Maintain the humidification and compressor rooms in a clean, organised, and hazard-free condition.
• Data Recording & Reporting
– Record key operating parameters (temperature, humidity, air pressure, and flow rates) at scheduled
intervals.
– Keep logs of maintenance activities, operational performance, and power or fuel consumption.
– Prepare daily operational reports for review by the Utilities Supervisor.
– Track trends in performance data to identify efficiency gaps and support corrective actions.
• Safety, QHSE & Environmental Compliance
– Adhere to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) standards in all operations.
– Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow lock-out/tag-out and electrical safety
procedures.
– Handle compressed air systems, electrical equipment, and chemicals safely and in line with standard
operating procedures.
– Support compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
standards.
– Maintain work areas in line with 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain).
– Report all unsafe acts, near misses, or environmental hazards immediately to the supervisor.
– Contribute to the company’s environmental sustainability goals by reducing energy and water wastage.
• Coordination & Continuous Improvement
– Work closely with production and maintenance teams to maintain consistent humidity and air quality
levels across departments.
– Assist in installation, calibration, and testing of new humidification or compressor systems.
– Provide feedback on equipment performance and suggest improvements for energy efficiency and
system optimisation.
– Participate in technical training, toolbox meetings, and safety awareness sessions.
– Support continuous improvement and energy-saving initiatives within the utilities section.
• Compliance with Vistari’s Corporate Systems
– Apply the highest standards of internal controls and risk management practices and behaviours and
embed a positive risk and control culture.
– Demonstrate prudence, sound judgement, and appropriate and timely escalations in management of all
types of risk (including fraud risk) applicable to the role.
– Promote and adhere to Vistari’s core values and ensure compliance with organisational policies and
procedures, collective agreements, and statutory employment standards.
– Maintain zero tolerance to bribery, fraud, and corruption, and ensure the immediate reporting of any
corruption or suspect behaviour that threatens Vistari’s reputation.
– Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures and immediately report any safeguarding concerns.
