Job Description

Job summary
The Chief Graphic Designer leads the creative and technical design process in Processing ensuring the
development of market-relevant, high-quality, and manufacturable designs across textile product lines.
S/he serves as the link between creative concept and factory execution, translating customer requirements,
market trends, and brand guidelines into technically accurate and visually compelling designs that can be
efficiently produced. The role ensures alignment between design intent, production feasibility, and quality
standards while promoting innovation, efficiency, and compliance with safety and sustainability guidelines.
Key roles and responsibilities
• Design Development & Creative Execution
– Develop original visual elements, design concepts, prints, patterns, motifs, colourways, and product
aesthetics using software like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to ensure aligned with market trends and
client requirements.
– Translate creative ideas into production-ready formats, ensuring print accuracy, scale, and alignment
with garment or fabric specifications.
– Adapt and refine buyer-supplied designs to meet internal production capabilities and cost parameters.
– Support the development of seasonal or thematic collections and promotional designs as required.
– Ensure that prints, patterns, and motifs are in a seamless ‘repeat’ for mass production on fabric.
– Design branding elements such as logos, swing tags, and labels.
– Create marketing and promotional materials for the fabric lines (e.g., advertisement campaigns, website
visuals, and catalogues among others).
• Technical Preparation & Production Integration
– Prepare technical design files, artwork separations, and layout specifications for rotary, digital, or screenprinting.
– Collaborate with Production, Sampling, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure design feasibility, colour
accuracy, and consistency in output.
– Conduct design tests and sample reviews to ensure reproducibility and alignment with production
standards.
– Troubleshoot design-related production challenges, recommending corrective actions.
• Design Quality, Standards & Documentation
– Maintain Vistari’s design library, colour palettes, templates, and reference guides for consistency and
traceability.
– Ensure all designs adhere to visual, technical, and quality specifications required by customers or internal
standards.
– Document all approved designs and versions with proper referencing, naming, and version control for
audit and re-use.
– Ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property requirements for all artwork.
• Cross-functional Coordination
– Liaise with Production, Merchandising, and Quality Assurance to align design intent with operational
realities and client expectations.
– Provide visual and technical input during pre-production meetings and sampling reviews.
– Support Sales & Marketing teams with visuals, catalogues, and branding materials that reinforce Vistari’s product identity.                                                                                                                                                  – Collaborate with the Supply Chain & Procurement team to identify new materials, accessories, or
techniques that enhance design value.
• Innovation, Trends & Sustainability
– Stay abreast of design and material trends within the textile and garment industry, translating these into
actionable design ideas.
– Recommend sustainable design techniques and eco-friendly materials in line with Vistari’s ESG
(Environmental, Social, and Governance) objectives.
– Explore digital tools, CAD (Computer-Aided Design)/CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) systems, and
two and three-dimensional (2D/3D) design technologies to improve efficiency and reduce development
timelines.
– Support pilot projects or prototypes that introduce new finishes, prints, or design innovations.
• Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement
– Ensure safe and ergonomic design practices in accordance with QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and
Environment) and 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain) standards.
– Promote continuous improvement in design turnaround time, waste reduction, and product
development efficiency.
– Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews relating to design and production standards.
• Compliance with Vistari’s Corporate Systems
– Apply the highest standards of internal controls and risk management practices and behaviours and
embed a positive risk and control culture.
– Demonstrate prudence, sound judgement, and appropriate and timely escalations in management of all
types of risk (including fraud risk) applicable to the role.
– Promote and adhere to Vistari’s core values and ensure compliance with organisational policies and
procedures, collective agreements, and statutory employment standards.
– Maintain zero tolerance to bribery, fraud, and corruption, and ensure the immediate reporting of any
corruption or suspect behaviour that threatens Vistari’s reputation.
– Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures and immediately report any safeguarding concerns.
– Any other related responsibilities that may be assigned by the Line Manager from time to time.
